You had an overworld and town with NPCs to talk to and even random platforming battles in the original. Demon's Crest also dialed the RPG mechanics back a bit, which the series also used to sport. This kind of changes the feel of the game a bit, but they adapted the levels for it and made it more action-oriented to compensate a bit. In this third and final instalment, your wing-strength has been perfected and you can hover for an infinite amount of time. Because the series is centred around hovering and clinging to walls, it has a very unique dynamic where levels can twist and turn in every single direction, and floors become completely optional. Since you are heavy though, your wings can't carry your weight well, so you can't fly for very long until you upgrade them. What you instead excel at is clinging to walls, and using your wings to "fly" (read: hover) in horizontal lines. You are a gargoyle, so your moveset and mobility is very stiff feeling. It's a platforming series with a neat twist. ![]() Click to expand. It's the third and final instalment of the Gargoyle's Quest series.
